Description

Another update with new digital effects. The older version can be seen HERE.

Here is the coloured version of This drawing here, I have to say I'm incredibly happy by how this turned out and I especially enjoyed experimenting on the lighting effects. :D

On with some lore!
The members of this lizard race are generally nomadic, even if they sometimes live in human cities, and despite their menacing look they are actually quite peaceful. They are mostly traders (despite some small groups who survive pillaging around), and move between the northern and southern regions of the desert in caravans and trade in different goods.
They are also famous for making some of the finest and most colorful fabrics of the southern territories, together with high quality jewelry (gold in particular, since they believe it originated from fragments of the sun fallen on earth and it has therefore an almost spiritual value).
I still have to decide the name these creatures have, and also the colouring is not yet definitive. I like the scale pattern I made here but it took ages and perhaps I should go for something simpler in the future.  (the colour is inspired by a lizard called Varanus Griseus, in case you are curious.)
You can read more about these creatures on this other work here!

Since I'm testing new techniques any critique or suggestion to help me improve is more than welcome! ^^

Wow, how do I even begin... This is absolutely beautiful! I feel like I am moving with him across the landscape as it appears that he is looking back to see if I am still keeping up with him.

The colours here are simply beautiful and i can almost feel the the warmth of the desert beginning to turn into a cool breeze as the night falls. Unless its a morning scene, I can never tell the difference XD.

In terms of drawing skill, this is superb. My attention is guided fluidly through the drawing and there is just the right amount of detail to make it a complex piece without creating pollution.

I guess the only real negative thing I see in it are your values. They are too light, you lack dark spots for proper contrast and this takes away part of the full emotional potential of the piece, by giving it a washed out look. Although I believe this is more a flaw caused by the method you use to digitise the drawing rather than your technique, as I am sure the original must have much stronger colours and contrast.
