Description

Finally a new full background drawing with Shadi! :D  In case you don't know, she's a little girl who dresses up as a boy and survives by stealing and begging in the slums... and I freaking love drawing her, she's just adorable.

The drawing is "inspired" by the first drawing I ever made of her. After finding it again I decided to do something similar, but with a full cityscape this time (I've never done anything like this before), and it was really fun to make even if it took me ages. :D
The jumping pose looks unfortunately quite "static", but despite that I'm VERY happy by the final result!  :iconcheetahlaplz:

In case you are curious the drawing is 15x24 centimeters and colored with watercolour.
Any critique, comment or suggestion to help me improve is most welcome!

The contrasting colors are gorgeous and well-handled, convincingly showing that night is approaching. The character and the city are gloriously detailed and in a smart perspective, showing that the character is above the city.

I agree with the artist in that the pose is a bit static; however, that does not mean unrealistic. Next time, consider alternate poses or exaggerate the pose more (For this one, I'd recommend bending a leg more, twisting the torso, or moving the arm more.) There are also a tangent in the back leg that could have been made to overlap more, to make the character jump out of the scene.

This piece is wonderful from the ragged cloth in the background, cracks in the roof, and fold and details in the clothes. All of these details draw the viewer in and let him discover little gems that may have been overlooked before. Again, I applaud the detail in the city and find it rewarding.
